Welcome to
LearningToBeTheLight.org, home of the Learning To Be The Light
Project (LTBTL), based in Hoover, Alabama.
LTBTL is dedicated to one
goal: making sure that eligible students have the
technological resources needed in order to succeed in today's
high-tech school environment.
As our site grows, it will
outline how we are taking in used computers and other PC equipment,
refurbishing it, and installing it in the homes of low-income
families who's students attend the Hoover City School district.
If you have a computer, or
computer equipment, such as an LCD monitor (sorry, we can't use CRT - tube type -
monitors), that you would like to give* to LTBTL, please send an
e-mail to
info@learningtobethelight.org . We will pick it up,
destroy any data on the hard drive, and refurbish it for the use of
an eligible student. If you'd rather drop it off, you may do
so Monday-Friday from 8:30am - 4 pm at the Artists on the Bluff
office (formerly the Bluff Park Community School), located at 569
Park Avenue, Hoover, AL 35226. If you have any restore
disks that came with the computer, those would be very helpful, but
not necessary. See the
Project Summary page for more
details.
